I would like to say thanks to George for putting on this event. It was well organized and in my opinion ran very smoothly. I would also like to congratulate all the other riders who participated in the race and say good luck on next year's event. Hopefully we can get the word out to more folks for a much larger turnout.

Great job George and keep up the good work.

Thanks for all your work putting this contest together. I'd been wanting to get out there and try some new trails, but inertia and my own laziness had prevented it. This contest was just what I needed.

Things I learned.....

* Riding as many trails as I can in just one day definitely cuts down on the fun for me. I much prefer spending my time at one trail and riding it over and over if it's a short trail.

* Walnut Creek is my favorite trail in Austin.

* O.P. Schnabel is my favorite trail in San Antonio.

* The Madrone Trail at Canyon Lake is still my fave overall.

* After riding some trails that weren't maintained very well, I have a MUCH greater appreciation for those folks who donate their time doing trail maintenance.

Rick, thanks, I appreciate that. Like any event, as long as everything appears smooth on the participants end and they had fun, it's all good. :) I know there were more participants out there (I ran into a few here and there), but for whatever reason never uploaded their photos.

bluesrat, thank you for getting out there. And, like I said, that was part our goal - to get out and hit some new trails and I am glad it worked. :) I didn't even think of it as being a potential "learning experience," so that's a welcome result - especially the appreciation of those who do trail work, and if it gets more riders volunteering, even better!

I also want to thank everyone else that participated (even those that for whatever reason didn't post up on photobucket - I know I ran into a few that were participating, but never saw their photos go up). I would love to see a larger turn out next time, after-all, you're out doing what you would be doing anyway! Granted, you might do a little more driving in the process. :P

Now the bad news...I'm not sure when the next time will be. I've had several emails re: doing one in 2010, but unfortunately, it looks like I'll be in Korea come Sept. for a year. I can only imagine how difficult it would be coordinating with sponsors and such from half way around the world. lol The next time I plan on starting earlier in the year, as well, so skipping a year (maybe two) might be of benefit so I can do just that (without the next starting on the heels of the previous). Rest assured though, as long as the sponsors are there, we'll keep doing it.

Thanks!
